If you're learning to play the piano, why not learn the language of music?

 

Anna recommends having music theory lessons simultaneously with practical piano lessons. Gaining a deeper understanding of music will significantly improve your piano playing skills, however, it is not essential. 

 

If you want to include music theory in your lessons you will learn:​​

• The different notes and rests

• The basics of rhythm and tempo 

• An understanding pitch 

• Scales

Anna uses the ABRSM examination board for students who wish to complete music qualifications. However, there is no pressure to complete exams if this is something you are not interested in

Anna recommends dedicating 10 to 15 minutes to musical theory. You could increase the time of your practical piano lesson to include this or simply intertwine this learning throughout your practical piano lesson. See a detailed price list below:
